By accessing and using PDFCompliance.com ("the Website") and/or by submitting documents for processing and/or by using our services you are acknowledging that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are a subscriber, your use of this Website is also subject to additional terms in our service agreements.
Service description
PDF Compliance provides automated accessibility scanning and remediation services for PDF documents. Our services include WCAG 2.2, Section 508, and PDF/UA compliance checking, Adobe-verified digital signatures, blockchain certificate generation, and compliance reporting services.
Limited license
PDF Compliance grants you a limited license to access and make personal use of the Website in strict compliance with these Terms. This license does not include any resale or commercial use of the Website or its contents, any derivative use of the Website or its contents, or any use of data mining, robots, or similar data gathering and extraction tools.
Adobe authorization and digital signatures
We are authorized by Adobe Systems to apply digital signatures and verification seals to scanned documents through their official API integration. This authorization allows us to provide legally recognized verification of compliance scanning. Adobe's terms and conditions apply to all digital signature services provided through our platform.
Document processing and blockchain certificates
All processed documents receive immutable blockchain certificates for verification purposes. These certificates provide permanent, tamper-proof documentation of compliance scanning and are recorded on distributed ledger technology for maximum security and verifiability.
Accuracy disclaimer and professional advice
While our scanning technology is highly accurate and utilizes industry-leading algorithms, final compliance determination should include manual review by qualified accessibility professionals. We provide automated tools and analysis, not legal advice. Consult with qualified legal counsel for specific compliance requirements and legal interpretations.
Payments and billing
You represent and warrant that (i) any payment information you supply is true and complete, (ii) charges incurred by you will be honored by your payment method, and (iii) you will pay the charges incurred by you at the posted prices, including any applicable taxes. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc. and are subject to their terms of service.
Data security and document handling
All uploaded documents are encrypted during transmission using TLS 1.3 and stored using AES-256 encryption. We implement industry-standard security protocols including SOC 2 Type II compliance. Processed files are automatically deleted after 30 days unless you specify extended retention in your account settings.
Intellectual property rights
The content, organization, graphics, design, compilation, and other components of the Website constitute our intellectual property and are protected under applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain all rights to documents you upload, and we claim no ownership over your content.
Prohibited uses
You may not: (a) use the service for any unlawful purpose or to solicit others to unlawful acts; (b) violate any international, federal, provincial, or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances; (c) infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others; (d) harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate, or discriminate; (e) submit false or misleading information; (f) upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code.
Refund policy
We offer full refunds within 30 days of purchase if you're not satisfied with our service quality. Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days to your original payment method. Refunds may be denied for excessive usage or abuse of the service.
Service availability and modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice. We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times and may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen circumstances.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
Limitation of liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL PDF COMPLIANCE, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS, BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER RESULTING FROM ANY (I) ERRORS, MISTAKES, OR INACCURACIES OF CONTENT, (II) PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO AND USE OF OUR SERVICES, (III) ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR USE OF OUR SECURE SERVERS AND/OR ANY AND ALL PERSONAL INFORMATION AND/OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION STORED THEREIN.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PDF Compliance and its subsidiaries, agents, licensors, managers, and other affiliated companies, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees).
Dispute resolution and arbitration
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be determined by binding arbitration in accordance with the commercial arbitration rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted in Delaware, and judgment on the arbitration award may be entered by any court having jurisdiction thereof.
Governing law
These Terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of the State of Delaware without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Delaware.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and bar access to the service immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever and without limitation, including but not limited to a breach of the Terms.
Changes to terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
